Diagnosis and systematic condition assessment of transformers

Learn what types of faults occur in transformers and how they can be diagnosed using on-site measurements.

Get plenty of practical advice on how to properly perform diagnostic measurements and how to interpret them.

In addition, you will learn how to systematically manage a fleet of transformers through a meaningful condition assessment.

Your motivation

  • Do you work in the field of diagnostics of transformers?
  • Do you know the situation where you are not sure when and to what extent a transformer diagnosis is necessary?
  • Are you confronted with the task of designing a reasonable maintenance strategy for a fleet of transformers and would like to know how to proceed?
  • Do you already have experience with transformer diagnostics and simply want to deepen your knowledge?

Then this training is the right choice for you!

Aims of the training

  • Learn which abnormalities or types of faults can occur in a transformer and how to diagnose them using diagnostic procedures.
  • You will become familiar with the various applicable standards and guidelines.
  • You will be provided with important knowledge on how to properly perform electrical measurements. The focus will be on basic electrical measurements as well as frequency response analysis.
  • Learn the theoretical and normative basics that must be mastered for the interpretation of measurement results.
  • With the help of practical exercises, you will learn about the most common abnormalities of a measurement with regard to interpretation (e.g. measurement errors, types of errors, external influences).
