Solutions for the low-voltage sector and electromobility

In low voltage, our focus is on measuring and assessing the power quality, as this is where the highest interference levels in the network can be found. We evaluate both the voltage quality promised to you by the energy supplier according to EN 50160 and the voltage and current quality within your plant according to the valid / applicable standards. This allows you to detect problems in your low-voltage distribution at an early stage or to estimate when network reinforcement will be necessary.

For optimal fault analysis and root cause analysis, we offer our customers a special recording of steady-state and transient signals, where even high-frequency processes such as transient overvoltages can be recorded with a sampling rate of up to 1 MHz. A special feature of our measurement technology is the high-precision time synchronization of several measuring devices with each other, so that we can evaluate the occurrence of phenomena at different points simultaneously, even in extensive systems.

Increased mains feedback often occurs when the connection point of a plant has an excessively high or unfavorable mains impedance. In addition to the 50 Hz impedance of a network, which is considered in the short-circuit current calculation, the impedance can deviate significantly at higher frequencies. In an unfavorable case, this can lead to interactions between systems. This occurs, for example, if in the past the network impedance was basically positively changed by a mains filter/suction circuit, but a new installation now forms a resonance with the mains filter. In this case, we offer measurement methods with which the mains impedance at a connection point can be determined as a function of frequency.

If you already measure the power quality yourself and possibly also have permanently installed PQ measuring instruments in use, we can check the accuracy of your PQ measuring instruments on your premises as an alternative to a conventional calibration at the manufacturer's premises.

A synergy effect from our primary technical area of diagnosis is the frequency response measurement of filter systems, where the correct function can be checked on site or a detuning of the filter due to the aging of the capacities.

We use the synergies with our analysis area to intelligently evaluate the measurement data from power quality measurements. This enables us, for example, to identify patterns that lead to a deterioration in network quality and to derive targeted countermeasures. Another approach that Power Quality uses with the Analysis area is the simulation of a (sub-)network to analyze and evaluate the measured power quality phenomena.
